Ceramic Coating Designed for Real Vaughan Driving
Vaughan vehicles experience road salt and winter slush, brake dust, traffic film, bird droppings, tree sap, summer heat and frequent changes in temperature. Leaving those contaminants on an unprotected finish can make a vehicle harder to maintain and may contribute to staining, oxidation and a gradual loss of gloss.
A professionally installed ceramic coating creates a durable, slick layer over the corrected clear coat. Depending on the selected system, it can provide:
- Greater resistance to environmental and chemical contamination.
- A deeper, glossier appearance.
- Hydrophobic behaviour that helps water release from the surface.
- Easier washing and drying.
- Reduced adhesion of dirt, road film and brake dust.
- Longer-lasting protection than conventional waxes and sealants.
- Protection options for paint, wheels, glass and selected exterior surfaces.
A ceramic coating is not rock-chip armour and does not make paint scratch-proof. Drivers seeking protection from gravel, stone chips and physical impacts should also consider our paint protection film services in Vaughan.
Proper Paint Correction Comes Before the Coating
A coating preserves the surface beneath it. It will not remove swirl marks, sanding scratches, water spots, oxidation or previous polishing damage. Applying ceramic coating over defective paint can make those defects more noticeable and more expensive to correct later.
For that reason, Toronto Buffing does not offer a basic “wash and coat” shortcut. Ceramic-coating projects are paired with the level of correction required to bring the paint to its appropriate potential.
Depending on the vehicle, preparation can include:
- Paint inspection under specialized lighting.
- Paint-depth measurements where appropriate.
- Prewash and careful hand washing.
- Chemical decontamination.
- Clay-bar treatment when required.
- Masking of sensitive trim and edges.
- Machine compounding and polishing.
- Removal of polishing oils and residue.
- Panel-by-panel inspection before coating.

Our Ceramic Coating Installation Process
1. Vehicle Assessment
We inspect the vehicle’s paint condition, finish, previous repairs, existing protection and areas of concern. This allows us to recommend a correction and coating combination based on the vehicle rather than selling every customer the same package.
2. Washing and Decontamination
Loose dirt, traffic film and bonded contamination are removed through a careful wash and decontamination process. Clay treatment is used where necessary so that embedded contamination does not interfere with correction or coating adhesion.
3. Paint Correction
The paint is corrected to remove as many safe and reasonable defects as possible. The appropriate process may range from a lighter two-stage polish on a new or lightly used vehicle to a three-stage correction or more advanced restoration on a worn finish.
4. Final Surface Preparation
After polishing, the vehicle is carefully cleaned to remove compound residue, polishing oils and remaining contamination. The surface is inspected under direct lighting before coating begins.
5. Controlled Indoor Application
The selected coating is applied indoors, panel by panel. Each section is levelled and inspected to prevent high spots, streaking or uneven curing.
6. Drying, Curing and Quality Control
The vehicle remains inside for the initial drying period required by the selected coating. We continue inspecting the finish and correct any installation issue before delivery.
7. Customer Aftercare
At delivery, we explain initial curing precautions, safe washing practices and the maintenance requirements associated with the selected coating and warranty.
8. Complimentary Follow-Up
Most paint-correction and ceramic-coating projects include a complimentary follow-up wash and inspection approximately two weeks after delivery. This gives us an opportunity to inspect coating behaviour, confirm the finish and address any concern early.
Why Choose Toronto Buffing for Ceramic Coating in Vaughan?

The final coating can only look as good as the surface beneath it. Toronto Buffing specializes in paint correction, defect removal, advanced polishing and automotive paint restoration—not simply high-volume detailing.
Our experience includes correcting:
- Swirl marks and wash damage.
- Holograms from poor machine polishing.
- Oxidation and faded clear coat.

- Isolated scratches.
- Paint-transfer marks.

Experience With High-End and Daily-Driven Vehicles
We work on daily drivers, new vehicles, performance cars, luxury vehicles, classics and specialty finishes. Every vehicle receives an individual assessment because clear-coat hardness, paint history and safe correction limits differ between vehicles.
Tested Professional Coating Systems
Our team has experience with numerous professional coating systems. The packages offered at our Vaughan facility are selected based on durability, clarity, resistance and real-world performance rather than product cost alone.
For more information about one of our primary coating systems, read our guide to Ceramic Pro coatings.
Careful Quality Control
Our correction and coating work is performed using dedicated inspection lighting, professional machines, fresh polishing materials and controlled preparation procedures. We inspect corrected paint before protection is installed and inspect the coating again before the vehicle is released.
Clear Recommendations
Not every vehicle requires the most expensive package. We recommend a correction level and coating based on:
- Paint condition.
- Vehicle age and mileage.
- How the vehicle is stored.
- Winter and year-round usage.
- Planned length of ownership.
- Washing and maintenance habits.
- Desired appearance.
- Available budget.

New-Car Ceramic Coating in Vaughan
New paint does not always mean defect-free paint. New vehicles may arrive with transportation contamination, dealership wash marks, water spots, adhesive residue, sanding marks or polishing holograms.
Before coating a new vehicle, we inspect it under direct lighting and perform only the correction needed. Correcting these issues before delivery of the coating prevents them from being sealed beneath a long-term protective layer.
New-car owners may also benefit from combining ceramic coating with front-end PPF. The film provides impact resistance on high-risk panels, while the coating improves gloss and makes the remaining surfaces easier to maintain.
Ceramic Coating or Paint Protection Film?
Ceramic coating and paint protection film solve different problems.
Choose Ceramic Coating When You Want:
- Greater gloss and paint depth.
- Easier washing.
- Hydrophobic behaviour.
- Resistance to staining and environmental contamination.
- Longer-lasting protection than wax.
- A lower-cost alternative to full-body film.
Choose Paint Protection Film When You Want:
- Protection from stone chips.
- A physical barrier against road debris.
- Greater resistance to scratches and minor impacts.
- Self-healing protection on vulnerable panels.
- Protection for a new, exotic or difficult-to-match paint finish.
Many owners choose a full-front PPF package with ceramic coating on the remainder of the vehicle. This combines impact protection on the bumper, hood, fenders and mirrors with easier maintenance and enhanced gloss across the vehicle.
Compare the options on our Vaughan and Toronto paint-protection-film page.
Maintaining a Ceramic-Coated Vehicle
Ceramic coating lowers the effort required to maintain a vehicle, but it does not eliminate washing or maintenance.
For the best performance:
- Wash regularly using safe hand-washing methods.
- Use a pH-appropriate automotive shampoo.
- Remove bird droppings, insects and tree sap promptly.
- Avoid abrasive brushes and poorly maintained automatic car washes.
- Use clean microfiber towels and wash media.
- Do not polish coated paint without professional guidance.
- Follow all initial curing instructions.
- Complete required inspections or maintenance services associated with the warranty.
Ceramic Pro packages may require periodic or annual professional maintenance to preserve full warranty eligibility. The exact requirements will be explained before installation and should be retained with the customer’s coating documentation.

Ceramic Coating Vaughan FAQs
How much does ceramic coating cost in Vaughan?
Toronto Buffing’s currently published coating prices begin at $899.99 and reach $3,499 for the premium Ceramic Pro ION package. Paint correction is required and priced separately. The final cost depends on the vehicle’s size, paint condition, correction requirements and selected coating.
Why is paint correction charged separately?
The amount of correction needed varies significantly. A lightly used vehicle with minor wash marks requires less labour than a large, dark-coloured vehicle with deep scratches, oxidation or previous polishing damage. Inspecting the paint first allows us to quote the work accurately and recommend the safest correction process.
Does a new vehicle need paint correction before ceramic coating?
Often, yes. New vehicles can have dealership wash marks, water spots, transportation contamination, adhesive residue and factory sanding marks. We inspect the paint and perform only the correction necessary before applying the coating.
How long does ceramic coating last?
Longevity depends on the coating package, installation, vehicle usage, storage, washing methods and maintenance. Toronto Buffing currently offers coating packages ranging from approximately two years to lifetime-warranty Ceramic Pro options, subject to the package’s written terms.
How long will you need my vehicle?
Turnaround depends mainly on the level of paint correction and the coating selected. A lightly marked vehicle may require substantially less time than a heavily defective or previously coated vehicle. We provide an expected completion date after inspecting the vehicle.
Does ceramic coating prevent scratches and stone chips?
No coating makes automotive paint scratch-proof, and ceramic coating is not designed to stop rock chips. It may improve resistance to light wash-induced marring and environmental wear, but paint protection film is the appropriate product for physical-impact protection.
Can ceramic coating be applied to wheels and glass?
Yes. Surface-specific products can be applied to wheel faces, calipers, glass, exhaust tips and other suitable exterior surfaces. Coverage depends on the package selected.
Can you ceramic coat paint protection film?
Yes. A coating formulated for PPF can improve hydrophobicity, ease of cleaning and resistance to environmental contamination without replacing the impact protection supplied by the film.
Can ceramic coating be installed during winter?
Yes. The application is completed indoors under controlled conditions. The vehicle must remain protected during the initial drying period, and the customer must follow the supplied curing and aftercare instructions.
How should I wash a ceramic-coated vehicle?
Use a safe hand wash, clean wash media, suitable automotive shampoo and clean microfiber drying towels. Avoid abrasive tunnel washes and harsh chemicals that can reduce coating performance.
Do you provide a warranty?
Written warranty coverage depends on the selected package. Some Ceramic Pro warranties also require periodic inspection or maintenance. We explain the applicable coverage and customer responsibilities before installation.
