This guide explains the curing process and outlines essential dos and don’ts to follow during this phase to protect your investment.
The curing period is the time it takes for the Ceramic Pro coating to fully bond and harden on the surface it’s applied to. While it begins to set immediately, full curing can take anywhere from 2 to 3 weeks, depending on the type of coating used, the number of layers, temperature, and humidity.
Ceramic Pro coatings rely on a chemical process called crosslinking to achieve their strength and durability. Crosslinking forms a tight molecular structure that adheres to the surface, creating a resilient protective layer.
The nanoceramic molecules in the coating need uninterrupted time to form strong, uniform bonds with the substrate. Exposure to moisture, soaps, or contaminants during this time can weaken these bonds, leading to premature wear or failure.
Ceramic Pro coatings are designed to harden significantly (up to 9H on the pencil hardness scale). This hardness builds over time. Interrupting this process can reduce resistance to scratches, swirls, and chemical damage.

✅ Do Keep the Vehicle Dry for the First 72 Hours
Avoid rain, sprinklers, or washing. If the vehicle gets wet, blow it off with a leaf blower or air.

Keep the vehicle indoors or under a canopy to protect it from UV rays, rain, and contaminants like bird droppings or tree sap.
✅ Do Allow Ventilation

✅ Do Wait at Least 2 Weeks Before Washing
Even if the vehicle looks dirty, hold off on any washing for at least 2 weeks—and only use pH-neutral soap after the full cure.

Bird droppings, sap, or industrial fallout can damage the uncured coating. If contamination occurs, gently blot and consult your detailer.
