Early in Toronto Buffing's inception, there was a consistent need to bridge the gap between autobody repair, and detailing. Many times during our reconditioning process, we would encounter damage that could be perfected with a quality respray. We were often faced with a decision: to compromise the end result, or do we refer the client to repaint? Often times, when we would refer a client to a body shop, they would come back with a negative, nightmare experience. We said enough is enough, and now we manage these repainting jobs ourself, and use our background knowledge in autobody, as well as years of experience in finishing to give clients a drama free experience. We now proudly offer repainting services for jobs as small as bumpers, all the way up to full body resprays.
When would you need panel repainting? We consider the panel repainting service when repair damage is minor, such as micropitting, a large amount of stone chips, scratches through the clearcoat, or defects that can not adequately be improved with less invasive methods such as buffing, polishing, sanding, or general paint correction.
Our resprays are done with only the best materials. Utilizing the Glasurit paint system allows us to achieve amazing color matches on all vehicles. Standard base/clear, 3 stage "tricoat" paint jobs, and even modern "4 stage" paint systems (tricoat with tinted clear) are done with relative ease. You won't find yellow clearcoat here: we use crystal clear high solids clear when appropriate.
This photo is a clear indicator of our color match abilities. Cap on the left is the original paint, panel on the right is a freshly repainted bumper. After this portion of the repair, the freshly painted bumper is watersanded and polished in order to match factory texture.
In the past, whenever we encountered a poor paint job done at another facility, one thing was consistent: corners were cut. Many shops often skip fundamental steps in order to save time and money. At Toronto Buffing, we have a different philosophy: do it right the first time. For bumpers, it is our standard process to remove the panel off the car, and take off all accessories prior to paint. Damage is always repaired properly, using the appropriate plastic filler, primer, or other material. Adhesion promoters (such as bulldog) are always used. These key points may cost a touch more, but always result in a job that will last the same amount of time as your factory paint. Naturally, after any paint work, we go through the finish with a fine tooth comb ensuring no dust, fish eyes, or other "standard" clearcoat imperfections are present.
We proudly offer a limited lifetime warranty on all repaints. All repairs are guaranteed to be free of dust, and other clear coat imperfections. We stand by our autobody repairs wholeheartedly.
This longtime client brough us his Ferrari for a front bumper repair. This was no standard repair, as this bumper had been repainted poorly several times in the past. Ferrari had quoted this client well over $20,000 to repair this bumper.
Upon removal and close inspection, we can see the true nature of the damage. The crack was all the way through, which had several layers of cracked filler and resin. This would require the bumper to not only be repaired, but reinforced from the inside. Standard Ferrari protocol would be to replace this bumper, however it was repairable with the help of a quality autobody shop.
Finished result, installed on the vehicle. After finishing the repaint, we proceeded to wrap the bumper in paint protection film.
